Misunderstanding of the Extent of Allah SWT’s Mercy

Today, too many people failed to understand what is Allah’s mercy

This hadith indicates the tremendous and majestic blessings that we often forget. There is not the slightest reduction or injustice on the scales of our deeds in the hereafter.

Some ignorant people distort the phrase:

Everything happens by the grace of Allah to strengthen their opinion that heaven and hell are not influenced by the reckoning of deeds, but are determined by the mercy of Allah SWT.”

They think that, despite committing many mistakes and sins, they can get the reward of heaven because of the grace of Allah SWT.

The grace they mean is the grace given to a group of people — despite their immorality — so much so that it makes them go to heaven, and given to another group — even though they are obedient — so that it makes them go to hell.

Recently, misunderstandings such as the above understanding have spread to the heart of the Muslim community, misleading their minds and undermining their efforts in seeking good.

They are getting further and further away from Allah SWT and increasingly ignorant of the teachings of His religion.

How can a person who is not struggling towards getting to heaven get into it?

In fact, Allah SWT has said:

For them will be the Home of Peace with their Lord. And He will be their protecting friend because of what they used to do.

(Surah al-An’am: 127)

That is the paradiseThat is Paradise, which We give as inheritance to those of Our servants who were fearing of Allah..”

(Surah Maryam: 63)

And that is Paradise which you are made to inherit for what you used to do.

(Surat az-Zukhruf: 72)

Disobedience to Allah SWT will certainly not bring His mercy and pleasure.

Only pious deeds are able to bring the servant closer to His love and forgiveness.

And, including the main pious deeds is to understand the greatness of the favors that have been bestowed and not to ignore the facts and rights.

Indeed, if Allah SWT takes into account all the blessings and asks us to pay them accordingly, we will certainly not be able to pay them!
